Diagnosis
Mesoscutum and scutellum smooth and shiny; frons with two dark brown cross-bands, one just below frontal suture and one in level with toruli; female scape enlarged; dorsellum hidden under scutellum, not visible in dorsal view; lower mesepimeron large, convex and metallic. Similar to reticulata but with thoracic dorsum smooth and shiny, transepimeral sulcus strongly curved and lower mesepimeron larger, female gaster shorter, fore wing with median one-third infuscate; to helvola but frons with two dark cross-bands and with female scape wider; to erugata but with dark cross-bands on frons; to fasciata but with dorsellum hidden under scutellum.

Biology
From gall midge (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) blister galls on Pilea imparifolia (Urticaceae).
